Sakamoto Days Anime Adaptation release date
Although the exact release date has not yet been set, the Sakamoto Days anime is scheduled to premiere sometime in January 2025.
The key visual depicts the main protagonist, Taro Sakamoto, in both his current and previous lives.
Sakamoto Days is being produced by acclaimed TMS Entertainment (known for popular series like Dr. Stone, Fruits Basket Another, and Rent-A-Girlfriend), with Masaki Watanabe as the director (Bakumatsu), Taku Kishimoto (Haikyu!!) handling series composition, and Yo Moriyama (Attack on Titan) responsible for character designs.
As of now, the only confirmed voice cast member is Tomokazu Sugita, who will be voicing the lead character, Taro Sakamoto.
Sugita is renowned for his roles as Tadaomi Karasuma in “Assassination Classroom” and Gyōmei Himejima in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.”
The promotional video highlights Taro’s past as a ruthless assassin and his current life as a family man running a neighborhood store.
Viz Media is releasing the manga in English and describes its first volume as follows:
Time has passed peacefully for Sakamoto since he left the underworld. He’s running a neighborhood store with his lovely wife and child and has gotten a bit…out of shape. But one day a figure from his past pays him a visit with an offer he can’t refuse: return to the assassin world or die!
