The official X account of The Irregular at Magic High School announced on January 4, 2024, that the anime’s third season is set to air in April 2024. Along with the exciting announcement, the main promotional video previewing the opening theme song, a stunning new key visual, additional cast members, and broadcast information have been revealed as well.
The Irregular at Magic High School anime is adapted from a light novel series written by Tsutomu Satō and illustrated by Kana Ishida. The light novel was published by Dengeki Bunko from July 2011 through September 2020, with a total of 32 volumes.

The Irregular at Magic High School Season 3 release date
The highly anticipated third season of The Irregular at Magic High School anime will premiere on major Japanese networks such as Tokyo MX, BS11, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, MBS, and TV Aichi in April 2024. While the streaming platforms for international audiences have not yet been announced, Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Funimation are expected to stream the new season.
The third season of The Irregular at Magic High School anime will adapt three arcs from the light novel, including “The Double Seven Arc,” “The Steeplechase Arc,” and “The Ancient City Insurrection Arc.”

Studio 8bit is producing season three of The Irregular at Magic High School under the direction of Jimmy Stone. Kana Ishida is returning as the character designer and chief animation director. Munemasa Yamamoto is in charge of the script, while Taku Iwasaki is also coming back as the music composer.

- Houchu Ohtsuka as Retsu Kudou, taking the role from the late Motomu Kiyokawa, who passed away in August 2022 at the age of 87.
The trailer for The Irregular at Magic High School season 3 highlights the main characters and new faces amidst thrilling action sequences. It also previews the opening theme song, “Shouted Serenade,” by Lisa.
