2022 was a spectacular year for romantic comedy lovers, with many successful hits, and Romantic Killer was undoubtedly one of them. Those who admire watching worthy Shoujo romantic comedies with a twist of the reverse harem have truly cherished Romantic Killer and have established a respectable fanbase. This ONA adaptation of Wataru Momose’s manga series concluded with a cliffhanger, leaving fans hopeful for its renewal.
What’s the status of Romantic Killer season 2?
Unfortunately, as of today, Romantic Killer has not been renewed for season 2. The show’s production house, Domerica, and distributing rights holder, Netflix, haven’t disclosed any information regarding its renewal. The first season of this Shoujo rom-com series has effectively covered all four volumes (38 chapters) of the manga, so there’s no material left for season 2.
In addition, the manga author Wataru Momose clearly stated that there are no plans for the sequel, dashing fans’ hopes.

In terms of its overall success, Romantic Killer was well-received by viewers and got a whopping 8 MAL ratings.
The Romantic Killer anime has given fans a praiseworthy bunch of characters with deep character development, so it is disappointing for such a show to end before completing the story of the main character.
The anime concluded on a cliffhanger where our main protagonist, Anzo, hasn’t found a romantic partner yet. She has to find a boyfriend before graduation if she doesn’t want to give up on her otaku hobbies. In the anime’s finale, the words “to be continued” appear on the screen, hinting at a potential story continuation.
However, unless the author, Wataru, decides to produce new source material, it’s unlikely that a second season of Romantic Killer will be produced.
Romantic Killer Plot
The show follows a romanceless high school girl, Anzu Hoshino, living in a world of her own, playing video games, petting her cat, and eating too much chocolate. Her soothing world turned upside down when a cute wizard, Riri, showed up to find a boyfriend for Anzu.
Since Anzu is least interested in getting a romantic partner, Riri bends Anzu’s will by confiscating her “ultimate longings,” video games, her cat, and chocolate. She must find a potential love interest among a bunch of cool guys to get back to her favorite things.
