Kocha Agasawa’s slice-of-life manga The Ramparts of Ice has officially been greenlit for an anime adaptation. On January 31, Shueisha made the announcement, with a special celebratory illustration by Kocha Agasawa. However, no additional details, such as animation studio, staff, premiere date, or further promotional material, have been disclosed yet.

The illustration features the four main characters partying with balloons, confetti, and cake.

The Ramparts of Ice manga first appeared as a webtoon on the Line manga platform and ran from January 2020 to April 2022. In July 2023, Shueisha began publishing it in print, with 14 tankÅbon volumes collected to date.
The Ramparts of Ice focuses on Koyuki Hikawa, an introverted high school student who builds emotional barriers to interacting with others. Her life takes a turn when she meets determined classmate Minato Amamiya, social butterfly Miki Azumi, and laid-back basketball player Yota Hino.
It appears the anime’s release is still a long way off. If we make an educated guess, it could debut either late this year or early 2026, though this remains purely speculative. We’ll update you as soon as more details about The Ramparts of Ice anime become available.
