The hit action fantasy Tower of God is making its long-awaited return. Based on SIU’s beloved Webtoon, the anime first premiered in 2020. After a four-year break, the series is set for a comeback this summer with its second season, titled “Tower of God: Return of the Prince.
Recently, a new trailer for season 2 dropped, previewing the opening theme song “Rise Up” by Japanese girl group NiziU.
Tower of God Season 2 release date
Tower of God Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, July 7, 2024, in Japan. The show will be broadcast on the following Japanese television channels at different times:
- TOKYO MX: Sunday, July 7th, at 23:00 JST.
- Sun TV: Sunday, July 7th, at 23:30 JST.
- KBS Kyoto: Sunday, July 7th, at 24:00 JST.
- Anime BS Nippon: Monday, July 8th, at 24:00 JST.
Crunchyroll will stream the anime’s second season for viewers outside of Japan. Tower of God will have a special premiere event at Anime Expo 2024 on July 6. The event will screen the first two episodes of the new season.
The newly released visual was created by the anime’s character designer, Miho Tanino, featuring Bam and the new character, Ja Wangnan.

Tower of God Webtoon began its serialization on the WEBTOON platform in June 2010. As of now, 15 volumes of the series have been published. The first season of the Tower of God anime consisted of 13 episodes, and the first volume (78 chapters) of the Manhwa was adapted. Season 2 will likely start with volume 2 and cover the “Return of the Prince” and “Workshop Battle” arcs.
