The light novel was initially self-published as a web novel by the author on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform, running from October 1, 2017, to October 15, 2019, with a total of 176 chapters in seven parts. On May 30, 2018, Micro Magazine began publishing it as a light novel under their GC Novels imprint.
The manga adaptation of the series, illustrated by Jun Shiosato, began serialization on October 5, 2018, and was published by Fujimi Shobo under their Dragon Comics Age imprint.
Trapped in a Dating Sim Season 2: Release Date
On December 26, 2022, the official Twitter account of the “Trapped in a Dating Sim” anime announced that the show’s second season is in the works. To celebrate this news, the esteemed anime character designer Masahiko Suzuki created a special illustration featuring the protagonist, Leon, and his companion, Luxion.

Now that the Holfort Kingdom’s most powerful force is imprisoned and unable to prevent an attack, the Principality will launch an all-out assault. Leon must find a way to free himself and decide whether the country that betrayed him is worth saving.

The first season of “Trapped in a Dating Sim” was animated by Studio ENGI, which is also responsible for other anime such as “Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!” and “Kemono Michi: Rise Up.” Kazuya Miura and Shin’ichi Fukumoto directed the anime, Masahiko Suzuki designed the characters, and Kenta Ihara composed the series. About Trapped in a Dating Sim
The anime story follows an office worker who dies and unexpectedly reincarnates as Leon Fou Bartfort in the Holfort Kingdom of the Otome game that his sister compelled him to complete. In the game world, women rule supreme, and background characters like Leon struggle to survive.
