Fans of the popular zombie apocalypse anime Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead will be disappointed to learn that the production committee has put the remaining three episodes (10, 11, and 12) of the first season on indefinite hiatus. Without any explanation given for the abrupt pause, viewers of this undead comedy show are anxiously waiting for updates on when Akira’s adventures will continue.
Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead is an anime series produced by Studio Bug Films, adapted from the hit Japanese manga written by Haro Aso and illustrated by Kotaro Takata.

No Update on when the Remaining Episodes of Zom 100 will Air
Unfortunately, there is currently no official word on when episodes 10, 11, and 12 of Zom 100’s first season will be released. Fans are eagerly awaiting news from the studio regarding the return of the popular zombie comedy series.
The postponement news for the last three episodes of Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead was announced on September 24, 2023, via the official Twitter account. In the tweet, the staff expressed gratitude to fans for watching episode 9 and assured them that they would be informed as soon as the broadcast schedule for episodes 10 to 12 is confirmed.
Studio Bug Films has not provided a specific reason for abruptly putting the anime on hold. Given the delays between the release of prior episodes, production issues seem a likely cause, but no official details have emerged.
The longest delay for a Zom 100 episode so far has been one week, but this latest hiatus suggests that fans may now have to wait months for new episodes.
Due to production delays, the anime is likely to lose its scheduled broadcast slot in Japan. Other anime shows like “NieR: Automata Ver1.1a” have also faced COVID-related setbacks and took approximately three months to secure a new timeslot. As a result, the airing of Zom 100 may not resume until late 2023 or early 2024 as the staff awaits open timeslots.
Zom 100 quickly gained a large following due to its unique and humorous approach to the zombie genre. However, the sudden halt at the season’s end has left many viewers feeling frustrated and disappointed.
Fans are hopeful that Zom 100’s break will be brief and the show will resume soon. All previous episodes of the anime are available to enjoy on Netflix, Hulu, and Crunchyroll.
Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead Episode 9 Recap
In episode 9, titled “Treehouse of the Dead,” Akira and his friends are on their way to Gunma but encounter a blocked tunnel filled with zombies. To avoid this, they detour through the forest, where they meet and rescue an older man named Masaru Kumano from a zombified boar.
Learning he’s a carpenter building a treehouse, they decide to put their journey on hold to help complete it. During their time together, Masaru reveals that he had to kill his own son after he turned into a zombie.
After bidding farewell to Masaru, they resume their journey to Akira’s hometown, hoping to find his parents alive. To Akira’s immense relief, he is able to reunite with them and the other villagers, who have managed to trap the zombies in the tunnel and live normally.
As his friends wander around the town, Akira offers to help his mother with household tasks, but she tells him to take a rest instead. He then attempts to bond with his father by helping him in the fields, but struggles to connect. Akira’s father hides a bleeding injury on his hand from him, thinking he doesn’t have much time left.

Meanwhile, a new antagonist named Kanta Higurashi and his violent group have recently arrived in the village. They also have a sort of bucket list, but unlike Akira, who has a list filled with fun and adventure, Kanta’s list is full of violence and revenge. It will be interesting to see how the story unfolds when the anime returns.
