On May 6th, the official Blue Lock X handle revealed the release window for the highly anticipated second season. The exciting news was accompanied by a special illustration from the series’ manga artist, Yusuke Nomura. This article covers all the details we know about Blue Lock Season 2.

The production team and Cast
The Blue Lock‘s first season was animated by studio Eight Bit, with Tetsuaki Watanabe as the director. Masaru Shindō was responsible for character designs, and Taku Kishimoto was the screenwriter. However, there is currently no information regarding the staff and studio for season 2.

The Blue Lock anime is based on Muneyuki Kaneshiro’s and Yusuke Nomura’s manga series. The manga has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018, and 29 volumes have been published so far.
The first season of Blue Lock, which premiered in October 2022, covered 94 chapters and 11 volumes over 24 episodes. Season 2 will likely begin with the Third Selection Arc (volume 12), where the remaining players will compete against each other to form an elite 11-player team. After this arc, the focus will shift to the U-20 Arc, where the selected 11 players will compete with Japan’s formidable Under-20 national team.
