Demon Lord 2099, the light novel by author Daigo Murasaki and illustrator Kureta, is confirmed to receive an anime adaptation in October 2024. The official X account for the anime recently unveiled a new key visual and shared the theme song details.
The opening theme, ‘Hollow’, will be performed by Shiyui, while the ending theme, ‘Spira’, will be performed by Sekai.

Demon Lord 2099 Release Date
The anime adaptation of Demon Lord 2099 is scheduled for an October release, though the exact premiere date and Japanese broadcast channel are yet to be announced.
Crunchyroll has secured streaming rights for the series, confirming it will be available as part of their fall anime simulcast across North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and the CIS regions.
The Production Team and Cast Members
The renowned studio J.C. Staff is producing Demon Lord 2099, with Ryo Ando directing the anime. Yuuichiro Momose is handling the series composition, Ryosuke Tanigawa is designing the characters, and Tatsuya Kato is composing the music.

The Demon Lord 2099 light novel, also known as Maou 2099, started serialization in January 2021 under Fujimi Shobo’s Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. As of now, three tankōbon volumes have been published.
The series has inspired two manga adaptations. The first adaptation, illustrated by Kiiro Akashiro, ran from November 2021 to June 2022, while the second manga by Yutaka Sakurai began publication in March 2023. The series also won the Alternate Dimension category in the 33rd Fantasia Awards.
