Doctor Elise Anime Release Date
On December 13, 2023, Kadokawa released the main promotional video for the upcoming anime Doctor Elise, revealing its release date. The series is scheduled to premiere on January 10, 2024, at 9:30 pm JST on the Japanese channel AT-X, followed by other major networks like Tokyo MX and BS NTV.
It will also be available for streaming on the D Anime Store at 10 pm JST on the same night, while other services will start airing the show on January 15th. Additionally, Crunchyroll has confirmed that Doctor Elise will be part of its Winter 2024 simulcast lineup.
The PV also previews the opening and ending theme songs for the Doctor Elise anime. The opening theme, titled “believer,” will be performed by lead voice actress Yui Ishikawa, who plays the role of Elise, and the ending theme, titled “Listen,” will be sung by the artist Maju Arai.
Along with the promo video, Kadokawa unveiled the second key visual for Doctor Elise. The visual features Elise and the male lead, Linden, with supporting characters in the background.
Doctor Elise Anime Story
The anime follows the story of Aoi Takamoto, who previously lived as Empress Elise. In her previous life, she was executed by her husband, Emperor Linden, for her cruel actions. After being reincarnated into the modern world as Aoi, she becomes a skilled surgeon to atone for her past mistakes by saving lives.
Unfortunately, after dying in a tragic plane crash, she finds herself back in her previous body as Elise, ten years prior to her execution. Elise is determined to avoid marrying Linden and change her fate. Armed with her knowledge of modern medicine, she decides to become a doctor again and take a new path in life.

The anime adaptation of Doctor Elise was announced on February 28, 2023. Studio Maho Film, known for other fantasy series such as “I’m Standing on a Million Lives” and “By the Grace of the Gods,” is animating the anime under the direction of Kumiko Habara. Deko Akao is handling the series composition, and Yuko Watanabe is designing the characters.
