Crunchyroll announced at Anime NYC 2023 that the hit Korean webtoon True Beauty, created by Yaongyi, is getting an anime adaptation. This critically acclaimed manhwa series has won the hearts of countless readers with its delightful story of a high school girl who learns makeup techniques online and becomes a wildly popular beauty influencer after being bullied for her looks. The manhwa was also adapted into a successful live-action drama that aired from 2020 to 2021, further propelling its popularity.
The manhwa was published on Naver from April 2018 to June 2023 and quickly became one of the most-viewed titles on WEBTOON in 2019.
True Beauty Anime Release date
Crunchyroll has confirmed that the True Beauty anime adaptation is officially in the works and is set to air in 2024. Aside from the announcement, they have also shared a stunning key visual featuring the main characters, Lim Ju-Kyung, Lee Su-ho, and Han Seo-jun.
The anime adaptation of True Beauty is being produced by Korean Studio N, which is a subsidiary of Webtoon, and Cocktail Media. Studio N is known for creating shows such as the live-action version of “True Beauty,” “Hell Is Other People,” “Bloodhounds,” “A DeadbEAT’s Meal,” and “See You in My 19th Life.” At the moment, we do not have any information regarding the staff that is working on the anime project.
